Methacrylate

Polymethylmethacrylate (in abbreviated form PMMA) is a plastic material formed by polymers of methyl methacrylate, methyl acid methyl ester. In common parlance the term methacrylate generally refers to these polymers.
It is normally very transparent, more than glass, to the point that it has characteristics of behavior similar to optical fiber due to its quality of transparency, and with the property of being more or less in different percentages, unbreakable depending on its “mix”. Due to these characteristics, it is used in the manufacture of safety glass and similar items, in accident prevention facilities, in furniture or architectural objects in general.
PMMA is often used as an alternative to glass.
